Water Purifier Rental Terms & Conditions
This rental agreement is entered into between the customer and Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart for the rental of a water purifier under the following terms and conditions:
1. Rental Term
- The rental term is 36 months (3 years), starting from the installation date.
2. Early Termination Policy
- If the agreement is terminated within the first 12 months:
- A flat early termination fee of NZD $240 applies, plus
- 60% of the remaining rental payments for the rest of the contract term.
- If the agreement is terminated after 12 months:
- The renter must pay 60% of the remaining rental payments.
3. Payment Terms
- Monthly rental payments must be made via Direct Debit on the scheduled due date.
- If a Direct Debit payment fails due to insufficient funds, a penalty fee of NZD $14.95, as charged by the Direct Debit Collection Company, will apply.
- If payments are overdue for more than 3 consecutive months, the account may be referred to a collection agency, and additional recovery fees may apply.
- If the renter wishes to change their Direct Debit account details, they must notify Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart in advance.
- Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart is not responsible for any penalty fees or missed payments resulting from unreported changes to Direct Debit information.
4. Ownership – Rent to Own
- This rental operates under a Rent to Own system.
- Ownership of the water purifier will transfer to the renter upon completion of the 36-month rental term, provided all payments have been made in full and there are no outstanding fees.
- Until full payment is completed and ownership is officially transferred, the unit remains the property of Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart.
5. Contract Transfer (Change of Renter)
- If the renter wishes to transfer the rental agreement to another person, they must:
- Notify Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart in advance, and
- Provide the full details of the new renter (legal name, contact number, and address).
- All transfers are subject to approval by Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart, and additional documentation may be required.
6. Installation Liability Disclaimer
- Any issues arising from improper installation, including leakage, property damage, or operational failure, are the sole responsibility of the installer.
- Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart holds no liability for damages or losses caused by incorrect installation.
- Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart is only responsible for defects or issues that originate from the product itself, and not for problems caused by third-party installation, external plumbing, or household conditions.
7. Loss, Damage, and Proper Use
- The renter is fully responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to the water purifier during the rental period, regardless of cause.
- In cases of total loss or irreparable damage, the renter may be required to pay the full replacement cost of the unit.
- The renter must use the water purifier only for its intended purpose as described by Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart.
- The renter is not permitted to modify, tamper, repair, or alter the product in any way. Unauthorized modifications, repairs, or alterations to the water purifier will void the rental agreement and may result in additional charges or the termination of the agreement.
- Any damage or malfunction caused by improper use or unauthorized modifications will be the full responsibility of the renter.
- The renter must use the unit with care and maintain it in good condition.
8. Maintenance and Repairs
- Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart will provide regular maintenance and filter replacement services during the rental period at no extra cost, unless the issue arises from misuse, negligence, or unauthorized tampering by the renter.
- Filter replacement schedule:
- Micro Carbon Filter: Every 6 months
- Nanofact Plus Filter: Every 12 months
- Post Carbon Block Filter: Every 12 months
- Delivery dates may vary slightly depending on the renter's region, and the exact date of delivery may differ.
- The final scheduled filter replacements will occur at the 30th month of the rental term.
- No filter replacements are included in the 36th month, and the agreement will be considered complete at the end of the 36-month rental period without any additional maintenance or service obligations.
- If the product is being used outside of areas covered by our official service regions, and a fault or malfunction occurs, the renter must send the product to Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart for inspection and repair.
- The official service regions may change at the company's discretion, so for the most up-to-date information, the renter should contact Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart directly.
- In such cases, shipping costs will be covered by the company only if the rental agreement is still active. If the rental term has ended, all related costs will be the renter's responsibility.
9. Relocation or Reinstallation
- If the renter relocates, they must inform Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart in advance.
- A relocation or reinstallation fee may apply depending on the new address and service coverage area.
10. Delivery Requests
- If the renter requests delivery of the product (instead of installation), the delivery fee must be paid by the renter.
- Save Zone Ltd. trading as Hi Mart does not cover delivery costs unless otherwise specified in writing.
11. Governing Law
- This agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand.
- Any disputes arising under this agreement shall be resolved in the courts of New Zealand.
12. Acknowledgment and Acceptance
By proceeding with the online checkout process, or completing the online rental application, the renter acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to all terms and conditions outlined in this rental agreement. This electronic acceptance shall be considered as binding as a physical signature.
